Sasha Bordeaux was hired by the Board of
Directors of Wayne Enterprises to be a Bodyguard
to Bruce Wayne, after he was kidnapped by
Hugo Strange shortly after the No Man's Land
incident in Gotham. Despite Bruce's protests,
Sasha was hired to guard him 24/7. It didn't
take her long to figure out that her charge
was Batman.
After lending help to the
Bat during an investigation
of mind-controlled cops,
and leading to the
capture of the Mad Hatter,
Batman began to
train Sasha in order for
her to "do
her job" as she insisted
on. As Sasha
says, she's his "Cover".
Trained
in the use of the Bo staff
and having survived
a harrowing first leap
off a roof on a decel
line, Sasha began to share
in the nights
of the Bat and the days
of Bruce Wayne. She's
lost one thing though,
her heart, despite
the absence of any indication
that Bruce
returns her feelings.
During the "Joker: Last Laugh"
series, she set out on her own while Batman
was busy with the situation at the Slab.
Against direct orders from Bruce, she teamed
up (albeit begrudgingly) with the Huntress
to captured a Jokerized woman called Cucilla.
She was in reality a plant in the Slab, and
not a real criminal. All this while, no one
save for Huntress and Batman are aware that
he has a new sidekick running the rooftops.
Recently, over the course of the "Bruce
Wayne: Murderer?" and "Bruce Wayne:
Fugitive!" comics running through the
Bat-Titles, Sasha has been arrested and is
being held in Blackgate Prison pending trial
as Bruce Wayne's accomplice in the murder
of Vesper Fairchild. Her refusal to reveal
where they really were, and why she is innocent,
has kept her in prison, in spite of Bruce
escaping himself. With recent event leading
to Batman deciding to never again be Bruce
Wayne, Sasha is left in limbo as even if
she is acquitted, she is out of a job as
his bodyguard. |
